01

Start with the programs you use

Write down your everyday applications and check their published system requirements before comparing laptops. Browser work, video editing and engineering software can require very different hardware. Compare the exact processor model, memory and storage configuration, not just a family name printed in the title. Ask whether memory and storage can be upgraded; do not assume every configuration has the same internal layout.

02

Consider a full day away from the desk

Compare the laptop's weight together with its charger, the screen finish and the connections you need. A thin laptop may need an adapter for an external display or wired network. Manufacturer battery estimates depend on test conditions and should not be treated as a promise for your workload. If possible, inspect the keyboard language, touchpad and screen in person before choosing a model you will use for long sessions.

03

Compare the complete package

Ask the seller to confirm whether the operating system, charger and any advertised software are included. Read the warranty provider, duration and service process in writing. Keep separate notes for product price, required accessories and delivery so a cheaper headline price does not hide a higher total. Retain the invoice and exact model reference for future support.
