UMF ™
This scale measures the characteristic compounds of manuka honey that confirm its unique properties. It is a collection owned by teacher and tested for evaluation, presentation science, science, science, friend, source of syphilis, source and packaging in New Zealand.
UMF ratings are based on specific natural markers that distinguish manuka honey, such as leptospirin and methylglyoxal. UMF ratings rankings with the effectiveness of honey's desired NPA properties. Honey is usually named with NPA between 5 and 9.9 UMF 5+, honey with NPA between 10.0 and 14.9 rated UMF 10+ etc.
MGO®
MGO is methylglyoxal, sometimes referred to as MG. It is one of the declared substances found in manuka honey. It takes place from the written number that absolutely replaces MgO. That is, 500 MGO means that there are five hundred milligrams of the substance in a kilogram of honey.
Manuka honey ingredients
Hydrogen peroxide.
The main antibacterial component in manuka honey is a methylglyoxal compound found in most honeys, but usually only in small amounts.
Manuka containing MG comes from converting another compound dihydroxyacetone, which is found in high concentrations in manuka flower nectar, to give manuka honey its antibacterial strength, MG concentration, and is stronger than the antibiotic effect that examines the true benefits of honey.
